Ambassador Dodd's Diary 1933-1938 (1943) By William E. Dodd
Ambassador Dodd was the United States' last ambassador to Berlin before World War II. An Excellent book from the diary of Ambassador to Germany William Dodd, edited by his son and daughter. Dodd, a historian from the University of Chicago, reluctantly accepted the ambassadorship to Germany from FDR in 1933. As a historian and graduate student in Germany, his insights into what he saw around him were very interesting.
