Biggles Hits The Trails (Date ?) By Captain W.E. Johns
 
Biggles Hits the Trail by W. E. Johns was first serialized in 10 parts in The Modern Boy, issues 385 to 394 from 22 Jun 1935 to 24 Aug 1935 under the title The Mountain of Light. It was then published in book form by Oxford University Press in August 1935. Since then there have been at least 16 other editions in the English language.
 
The book is notable for being the second, and last, "Dickpa" novel and has given rise to a number of interesting derivative works.
 
In 1967, Antwerp based Studio Vandersteen published Biggles in Tibet, a Dutch language comic strip which was loosely based on the original Johns novel but transposed to a post war Air Police setting.
 
Also in 1967, French publisher Aredit issued Biggles au Tibet as the 20th small format comic album in their Biggles Artima/Aredit comics series. This adaptation was fairly faithful to the original text.
