James Goulding was a first-class Aviation Artist who, in the 1960s and 70s, was responsible for many of the Profile Series of Aviation Monographs. He was also an author and wrote several books on Aircraft. He both wrote and illustrated this book entitled "Interceptor" which was published by Ian Allan in 1986.  It takes the reader from the earliest stick and string Fighter Planes of WW1 through to the Lightning and Harrier and on to what was to become the Typhoon.  Of particular interest is the middle-Wartime period with many Aircraft described and illustrated that either never flew or were made in very limited quantities. The drawings are of the 3-view type and the book is also heavily illustrated with photographs and sketches.
