Readers Digest: The Canadians at War 1939-45 Vol. 1 & 2 and Supplement (1969)
The Reader’s Digest Association of Canada published this comprehensive month-by-month account of the country’s role in WWII, brought to life with 800 photographs and 50 maps across two volumes. “Woven together, they make a story to stir all Canadians and all freedom-loving people everywhere – not only those who lived the war but the postwar generation as well.” Central to the design is the bold two colour title that features prominently on the green linen covers and accompanying dustjackets. Bold colour treated images are used on the dustjackets and endpapers of each volume to heighten the sense of drama.
