The Imperfect Spies: The History Of Israeli Intelligence (1990) By Yossi Melman and Dan Raviv

The Israeli Intelligence have long enjoyed a reputation for being the finest in the world, but the author argues that the reputation is no longer deserved and that the Services, whilst resting on their laurels, have become dangerously complacent. Terrorism, intrigue and the ethics of international legalized murder are all dicussed in this book. The Mossad is the best-known of the agencies, but there are others which have been involved in such lapses as Mordecai Vanunu's revelations to the British press and the Israeli role in Irangate. Yossi Melman is the author of "The Master Terrorist" and Dan Raviv heads the London bureau of CBS News.
