Wellington (1925) By John Fortescue
Wellington's military career can be divided roughly into three main phases. First, his command in India and his brilliant conduct of the Mahratta campaign; then the long war of attrition in the Iberian peninsular; and finally the campaign leading to Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo.
The book is inscribed by the author on the fly leaf to his younger brother Charles Greville Fortescue, John Whittle has added a pencil note indicating the bookseller he purchased the book from in 2008 acquired the book from the grandson of C.G. Fortescue.
